European Funded Projects in West Lothian

For a number of years, West Lothian Council has been involved in a range of European funded projects which have enhanced and contributed to the lives of people living and working in West Lothian. Current Projects funded by European Structural Funds

West Lothian is currently involved in a number of projects funded through European Structural Funds.

Blackburn House Creative Industries Centre

ERDF finance provided the final piece in the funding jigsaw that secured the refurbishment of Blackburn House, one of Scotland's most important buildings at risk.

Community Learning Access Development

This project saw the development of learning centres in Fauldhouse, Blackburn and Whitburn by providing the centres with ICT infrastructure.

EQUAL Access West Lothian

West Lothian's EQUAL Access programme promoted new ways of combatting all forms of discrimination in the labour market.

Enhancing Employability in West Lothian

The aim of this project was to help employees with poor literacy and numeracy skills within SMEs who faced possible redundancy.

Enterprise in Partnership West Lothian

This project aimed to promote entrepreneurship amongst young people, women, ethnic minorities, and socially excluded groups.

West Lothian Business Portal and Virtual Business Centre

The aim of this project was to encourage the use of the latest ICT within local businesses.

West Lothian Enhanced New Deal

The aim of this project was to enhance the basic New Deal program by providing a tailored package of guidance and training.

West Lothian Youth Inclusion Project

The programme was designed to address the problems faced by young people leaving care and young homeless people.

Workplace West Development Strategy

Based on the High Street of Whitburn the Workplace was set up using ERDF funding to provide central access to trained employment advisors and a research library, as well as providing free access to IT equipment.
