VAT Registered Firms
There were 3,630 VAT registered businesses in West Lothian by the end of 2007, that's 230 more than the previous year. An increase in the number of VAT registered businesses provides an indication of the level of entrepreneurship and of the health of the business population. N.B. A firm must register for VAT if its turnover is £64,000 or more, however, some businesses do voluntarily register for VAT even though their turnover is below the threshold.
