Visitor Attractions

Image of Linlithgow Palace
Got a spare afternoon and wondering how best to fill it? Allow us to make some suggestions.

For history hungry visitors there are stately homes, palaces, castles, Neolithic sites and industrial heritage to get around. All within a short drive.

Younger visitors will love our family-friendly attractions, including the award-winning museum, farm and discovery centre at Almond Valley Heritage Centre, the deer farm at Beecraigs Country Park and the Linlithgow Story - not forgetting Livingston's internationally-renowned skate park.

For the mechanically minded there's the chance to hitch a lift on the nearby Falkirk Wheel - the world's only rotating boatlift - or learn about the transport of days gone by at the Bo'ness and Kinneil Railway or Linlithgow or Edinburgh Canal Centres.
