Bathgate & West Lothian Highland Games - May 31st 2008

Come along to the Bathgate & West Lothian Highland Games, held every year since 1973 come rain or shine, and you're likely to see everything from Highland dancing and piping, to fund-raising ceilidhs and our very own heavy athletics. This year's event takes place on Saturday 31st May.

Bathgate Procession & John Newlands Festival - June 7th 2008

The Bathgate Procession offers a packed line-up. Events, including children?s sports and a street fair, run for the two weeks prior to the first Saturday in June, Saturday the 7th this year, and ends with a historical pageant and procession through the town.

Linlithgow Marches - June 17th 2008

There's also the chance to join the community of Linlithgow in celebrating the boundaries of this Royal Burgh. Famously known as the Linlithgow Marches, this ancient custom dates back to 1541 and is held annually on the first Tuesday after the second Thursday in June.  This year will take place on Tuesday the 17th.

Music @ The Cross & Scotch Hop - Wednesdays 16th July to 13th August (plus extra Scotch Hop evening on 18th June)

Music @ The Cross provides free music in the heart of Linlithgow.  A variety of Scottish themed music will be on offer from 2 - 4pm on Scotch Hop days at the Cross.  Sit outside in the sunshine and enjoy the melodic sound of some classic Scottish tunes.

Scotch Hop is Scottish Dancing for all!  Whether you're a dab hand at the Dashing White Sergeant or have never Gay Gordoned in your life, you'll fit right in at Scotch Hop. Well known fiddlers and accordianists come from all over to play at these summer evenings and the beautiful surroundings of the Linlithgow Palace make it extra special.

Due to public demand an extra Scotch Hop evening has been added this year.  It will be held on Wednesday the 18th of June to coincide with Linlithgow's Civic Fortnight.

Hopetoun House Summer Fair - 27th July 2008

The Summer Fair is a fantastic day out for the family.  It takes place on the lawn overlooked by the magnificant Hopetoun House.  The day offers an exciting and diverse programme which includes music, entertainment and crafts.

Linlithgow Folk Festival 11th to 14th September 2008

This fantastic annual festival includes music sessions in local venues throughout the town all day and bigger concerts at night.  Great for all the family!

Bathgate Music Festival 14th to 20th September

This inaugural event is set to get off to a great start with a performance from musical heroes Aly Bain & Phil Cunningham at the Regal Theatre. The week will incorporate a wide selection of music for listeners to enjoy, from classic to hard rock.  Not to be missed!

Linlithgow Arts Festival 18th October to 1st November 2008

This local festival is into its third year and due to public demand has already grown from a being 3 day to a fortnight long event.  Join in the celebration of music, drama, literature and film by attending some of the great events that will be on.

Linlithgow Book Festival 31st October to 1st November

This well-established annual event takes place in the heart of Linlithgow.  If you enjoy literature you will be spoilt for choice with a variety of readings and writing workshops to choose from.
