Bathgate & West Lothian Highland Games - May 30th 2009

The Bathgate & West Lothian Highland Games has been held every year since 1973 come rain or shine, and you're likely to see everything from Highland dancing and piping, to fund-raising ceilidhs and our very own heavy athletics.

Bathgate Procession & John Newlands Festival - June 6th 2009

The Bathgate Procession offers a packed line-up. Events, including children?s sports and a street fair, run for the two weeks prior to the first Saturday in June, The event ends with a historical pageant and procession through the town.

Linlithgow Marches - June 16th 2009

This historic event gives you a chance to join the community of Linlithgow in celebrating the boundaries of this Royal Burgh. Famously known as the Linlithgow Marches, this ancient custom dates back to 1541 and is held annually on the first Tuesday after the second Thursday in June.  
 

Scotch Hop - Wednesdays 15th July to 12th August 2009

Scotch Hop is Scottish Dancing for all!  Whether you're a dab hand at the Dashing White Sergeant or have never Gay Gordoned in your life, you'll fit right in at Scotch Hop. Well known fiddlers and accordianists come from all over to play at these summer evenings and the beautiful surroundings of the Linlithgow Palace make it extra special.

Hopetoun House Summer Fair - 26th July 2009

The Summer Fair takes place on the lawn overlooked by the magnificent Hopetoun House.  Visitors can enjoy terrier racing and extreme bike stunts in the sunshine whilst children are entertained by puppet shows and bird of prey displays. The day offers an exciting and diverse programme which includes music, entertainment and crafts.

Linlithgow Folk Festival 10th to 13th September 2009

This fantastic annual festival includes music sessions in local venues throughout the town all day and bigger concerts at night.  The festival is always busy and revellers are guaranteed a great time.

Bathgate Music Festival 13th to 19th September 2009

Feedback for the inaugural event was fantastic.  A packed programme of varied music events had Bathgate jumping all week.  It started with a performance from musical heroes Aly Bain & Phil Cunningham at the Regal Theatre and incorporated a wide selection of music for listeners to enjoy. Plans are now underway for a second Music Festival.

Linlithgow Arts Festival 10th October to 1st November 2009

This local festival will be into its fourth year and due to public demand has already grown from a being 3 day to a fortnight long event.  Join in the celebration of music, drama, literature and film by attending some of the great events that will be on.

Linlithgow Book Festival 30th October to 1st November 2009

This well-established annual event takes place in the heart of Linlithgow.  If you enjoy literature you will be spoilt for choice with a variety of readings and writing workshops to choose from.
