Country Parks

The Countryside Ranger Service assists the public in their enjoyment of the countryside. Activities, guided walks, environmental education, illustrated talks and summer events are on offer from the Ranger Service. The Parks are open all year round and entry is free. Cycling
- West Lothian has an extensive network of both local and long distance cyle paths. There is a 350km network of Greenways and Footpaths in and around the new town of Livingston which was planned with facilities for cycling in mind.
Spokes produce the West Lothian Cycle Map. Harveys produce a Livingston for Cyclists map. Sustrans, the charity that helps build and promote cycle routes, has a number of guides to the National Cycle Network routes that pass through West Lothian. These are the Clyde to Forth route, Round the Forth route, Forth & Clyde and Union Canals route and the overall guide to the National Cycle Network in Scotland. Activity Centres
- West Lothian has a huge range of adventurous activities on offer from kayaking and windsurfing through corporate team building to archery and clay pigeon shooting.

- Nestled high in the Bathgate Hills, Beecraigs is a one thousand acre Country Park offering a wide range of recreational opportunities including trout fishing, a trout farm, deer farm, target and field archery courses, orienteering, pioneering, hillcraft, skiing, canoeing, kayaking, rock climbing, barbecue and picnic areas, trim course, woodland walks, play area and a caravan/camping site.
Located on the outskirts of Linlithgow, Kingsfield Leisure is a 4 Star Visit Scotland Activity Centre offering laser clay shooting, golf, archery, falconry and putting. Low Port Centre provides a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities for groups and individuals of all ages and abilities, and also boasts a residential wing and other facilities that are available for hire. Activities include kayaking, windsurfing and sailing on Linlithgow Loch. Racing Karts located on the Deans Industrial Estate in Livingston is West Lothian's very own indoor kart racing circuit. They are open to both individuals and groups and can provide a number of scenarios for corporate team building exercises. Edinburgh International Climbing Arena, Ratho is the premier location in Britain if not the world for climbing indoors, with both artificial walls and natural rock climbing under cover on the face of the quarry. Meanwhile for adventurers young and old, the Aerial Assault Course is the ultimate adrenaline rush, a truly unique experience where you, quite literally, let it all hang out 100ft from the ground. The ride begins with a death-defying twisted zip slide and ends with a series of increasingly formidable obstacles.

- There's nothing quite like a live game to blow away the cobwebs. Action, impact, drama, emotion - it's got it all. Big on the beautiful game? Then step into 'The Lion's' den at Almondvale and catch Livingston Football Club in Scottish Football League action.
Really into rugby? Watch Linlithgow Rugby Football Club - otherwise known as The Reds - mount their latest challenge at Mains Park or catch Livingston RFC at their ground in the centre of Livingston, Almond Park. Or why not catch the Edinburgh Monarch's speedway team in action at Armadale.
