Filming Locations

Edinburgh Film Focus, the local Film Commission for Edinburgh, the Lothians and the Scottish Borders has a remit to market and promote the area to film production companies working on feature films, short films, TV drama, commercials, corporates, documentaries, pop promos and stills.

The feature film The Jacket, shot for 35 days at Bangour Hospital with West Lothian benefiting from heightened media interest and excellent press coverage.

Locations

Linlithgow Palace, Torphichen Preceptory, Harburn House and Hopetoun House for ShoeBox Zoo were among locations used. In addition, filming took place in private houses in Bathgate and Linlithgow and Bergdorff Goodman used moorland near Harperrig Reservoir.

 

The overall estimated economic impact on West Lothian' economy from filming, crew and facilities based in the area is estimated at around £400,000 per annum.
