Wisdom IT has a lot to celebrate. In their fourth year at Kirkton Campus in West Lothian and tenth year of existence, the 40 people at Wisdom IT have achieved a staggering 40% growth in the first six months of the year.

From their base in Livingston and at a time other IT companies find challenging, Wisdom IT is still growing, as it has every year since its inception. This award winning company was set up 10 years ago to provide IT solutions to companies and to empower businesses through world class technology.

The company assists clients to develop IT strategies to meet their specific needs, and supplies a full range of IT services including remote management, server replication and data management. By doing this, Wisdom IT allows its clients to focus on their business objectives instead of their IT systems. If businesses are willing to ask the questions, Wisdom IT can find the answers. One of the answers to help Wisdom IT meet its own business objectives was to locate the company in West Lothian.

"We had two main reasons for choosing West Lothian back in 1995" says Dave McConachie, Director of Sales and Marketing: "We wanted Wisdom IT to benefit from West Lothian's outstanding infrastructure, both transport and technical, and to access the vast skilled pool of resources in Edinburgh, Glasgow and locally. Our staff are ambitious go-getters who make our company succeed. In turn we provide them with a great place to work; including an attractive environment, ample car parking and corporate membership at the local Deer Park Leisure Complex."

For Wisdom IT, a location in West Lothian also ensured the company did not get tagged as being an Edinburgh or Glasgow focused company. As Wisdom IT serves customers across the central belt of Scotland and throughout the UK, this was important for them.

"We are proud of our facilities, and as well as going out to see our clients, we also like to bring them here," says Dave McConachie about the Wisdom IT Management Centre which was opened in 1999 by MP Helen Liddell.

Locally, Wisdom IT and their clients also benefit from Wisdom IT's easy access to major telecoms providers like British Telecom, Telewest and Thus. Wisdom IT is deeply involved in the local West Lothian community. Their engagement ranges from participating on the board of West Lothian Chamber of Commerce, in the local business learning network and involvement with local schools.
