Scottish Business Insider's SME 300 listing of Scottish SMEs has highlighted the importance of West Lothian to the Scottish economy with 11 West Lothian headquartered companies being featured.
The Scottish Business Insider SME 300 comprises a listing of Scottish Companies who are registered or have their Head Office in Scotland and generate 90% of their turnover in the area. Companies qualify when turnover is between £5 and £20million. KLS Holdings of Bathgate were the highest ranked West Lothian company at number 2. The engineering firm trades under a number of brands including Lothian Steel Services, Oil States Klaper and Ecosteel. Broxburn liqueur firm Drambuie (9) and Bathgate civil engineers Front Line Construction (10) are both also ranked in the top ten. Other local firms listed include Broxburn refrigeration firm Capital Cooling (61), Bathgate based computer services company Dacoll (65) and Livingston biscuit manufacturer Paterson Arran (99).
