A special networking event has been arranged for new businesses owners who want to make new business contacts.
The event on 24 August has been organised by Business Gateway and West Lothian Chamber of Commerce for anyone who has recently started their own business in the area. The evening will include a short introduction to networking techniques to help participants get the most out of the evening, followed by a speed networking session. Those attending will also have the chance to meet representatives from the Chamber of Commerce, West Lothian's principal networking organisation. Chamber chief executive Dave McDougall said: "Networking is an excellent way to make new business contacts and meet like-minded people. This joint event with the Business Gateway is an excellent way to find out more about the range of services on offer to local businesses, including the opportunity to be matched with a business mentor." Business Gateway manager Alice Sinnet said: "Networking is a cost effective way to market your business but it is more to most small business owners than just gaining referrals or leads. Business networking is necessary for growth and success. It builds working relationships, strategic partnerships, referrals, business advice and support, sales, learning and more." There is no charge for attending this meeting which takes place on 24 August at the Enterprise Centre in Livingston.
