A West Lothian woman will appear in her own show at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this August.
Soprano Nicky Connor's Burns, Ballads and Banter show will take her audience through some of her favourite songs from Robert Burns via the musicals to Annie Lennox. When not performing herself, 26 year old Nicky acts as an agent to other entertainers. She established her business Nicola Connor Management Limited last year with the help of Business Gateway and the Prince's Scottish Youth Business Trust. Before branching out on her own Nicky gained experience by working at The Stand Comedy Club and StandOut Comedy Agency for four years, dealing with acts and tour bookings. She set up Nicola Connor Management Ltd in early 2009. Nicky explained: "Nicola Connor Management is a comedy agency dedicated to developing the very best talent in Scottish comedy. We currently represent Scottish comedians who work in the UK comedy industry on the live circuit, radio and television. "We also supply comedians for corporate events, private parties, for after-dinner speeches or to add humour into meetings/presentations and training days." Nicky has produced tours/events for a number of well known comedians including Frankie Boyle, Fred MacAulay and the 5.30 show's Bruce Devlin. Nicky Connor's lunchtime show can be seen at Belushi's in Edinburgh's Market Street from 7 - 20 August.
