Bar Leo in Linlithgow has undergone a full refurbishment transforming its interior.
Prior to the refurbishment, Bar Leo was already well known for it's fine cuisine. When owner Gianni Carolla resumed control of the establishment, he felt it would benefit from rejuvenation, to breathe new life into the town's much loved Italian restaurant. The brief for designers Wagstaff Interiors Group was to inject a sense of style and sophistication, working with three anchor points in the space - the bespoke red stone bar, an eight metre long hand-painted Renaissance style fresco and a large circular seating area. Warm leathers were teamed with fresh lime fabric, echoing the tones of the colours from the fresco. In a quirky twist, table lamps were upturned and fixed to the ceiling, in an undulating line of pleated shocking pink silk above the booths. Warm merbau flooring connects the bar dining to the main restaurant space - curving subtly down a ramp that adjoins a curved timber partition, offering views through to the diners below in the restaurant space. Walking down to this space reveals that the curved partition houses a special booth for large parties or for those requiring more privacy. Overall, the interior's opulence reflects the high quality dining experience, while successfully merging the juxtaposing concepts of tradition and trend. For more information visit www.barleo.com.
