West Lothian businesses are being urged to get involved in the development of West Lothian's new Community Plan - Towards 2020.
Two business consultation evenings have been organised by West Lothian Council's Business Gateway service in partnership with West Lothian Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Small Businesses. The business organisations are working with the Community Planning Partnership who is keen to engage with the business community in determining the wider vision for the area in 2020. The Partnership is challenging people to consider what age they will be in 2020 and to think about what that might mean for the services that they may need. At the meetings participants will be given information on what is already predicted to change based on information contained within the Local Plan regarding population change, etc. The key question participants will be asked is what their hopes for West Lothian would be for 2020. They will have the opportunity to discuss ideas on achieving the area's aspirations and what the barriers may be in getting there. The feedback from the sessions will inform the content of the new Community Plan - Towards 2020. Businesses can choose from one of two dates to make their views heard. The first session is on Monday 17th November at the Hilcroft Hotel in Whitburn from 6pm. The second is at the Livingston Football Club on Monday 24th November from 6pm.
