Bathgate company Trichem Scotland has responded to growing consumer demand for more environmentally-friendly cleaning products by launching their new Breakthru detergent this week.
- The challenge was to develop a product which incorporates greener ingredients with the same effectiveness as conventional ones.
-
- Breakthru is an eco-friendly detergent which achieves the same high performance results without the use of phosphates. Independently tested at 40 degrees, against standard phosphate-based detergent, using a range of different stains - the results show that overall performance is very similar. However, Breakthru shows a significantly higher performance on stains such as fats, egg yolk and butter.
Until now, phosphate-free detergents have incurred higher production and environmental costs, whilst offering a lower level of performance. And until now, the performance of phosphate-free detergents has generally been at a lower standard. However Breakthu from Trichem Scotland is an eco-friendly product which offers high performance results at a competitive price. "The growing awareness of ecological issues is placing new responsibilities and costs on business and manufacturers," says Trichem's Managing Director, Malcolm Drummond. "Phosphate-free products are a response both to the rising raw material costs, and to demands for reductions in their use on environmental grounds." "Trichem have been developing our phosphate-free range for some considerable time. Breakthru is in response to those issues, and we believe that this will significantly reduce the impact that traditional phosphate-based detergents have had on the environment."
