A reporter's inquiry has given the go ahead to a plan to build 25,000 new homes in Scotland's fastest growing area.
The plan will see half of the West Lothian homes built near Armadale, Broxburn and Winchburgh and was given permission despite a raft of objections. The scheme, part of West Lothian Council's local plan, is part of a 15 year planning blueprint for the area. Council executive development councillor Martyn Day commented: "We will give detailed and careful consideration to the recommendations made in the public inquiry report. We are pleased the inquiry reporters supported the scale of growth proposed within the core development areas in our new local plan." (BBC Scotland Online www.bbc.co.uk/scotland)
