GENERAL INFORMATION

Left Hand Navigation
There are 9 main sections to the website which are shown in the left hand navigation, each one having a section homepage.

A single click on each section title will show you a further drop down menu for each section, identified by a down arrow, v.

Each section has its own unique colour, which is deeper for the page you are on. A side arrow, >, will show you if there are more pages to be viewed in that section and a box, ▪, denotes the last page.

Clicking on the arrows is the best way to expand or retract the navigation and the quickest way for you to find what you are looking for.

Section Homepages
Each section homepage introduces the main content for that section. At the bottom of each section homepage you will see 6 "Features". These will be relevant to the section you are in. Example, if you are in "Starting a Business" you may be looking for premises, so we have "Featured" our Property Search facility.

Middle Section
The middle section of each screen is where the main content/information is displayed. On the homepage this contains the latest news and news ticker.

Registration
If you register on the site, you will have access to all downloads and search facilities. You will be sent confirmation of your registration and the next time you log in, you will see your status at the top of each page.

Your details are kept strictly confidential and not given to third parties. Please see our Security & Privacy Policy, a link to which is at the bottom of each web page.

Search
The site offers a broad search facility that can be accessed by the "Search" box at the top of each page.

Paying a Bill
Currently, if you purchase material in the Business Learning pages you will be invoiced directly by the third party and not West Lothian Council. West Lothian Council is not liable in any way for any transaction between yourself and the third party.

Downloads
There are various documents throughout the site that are available to download, such as Word and PDF documents. For some of these you may need to download specific software in order to read some documents. If specific software is needed it will be available to download on the relevant pages. West Lothian Council bears no responsibility for any software downloaded.
