A West Lothian company is playing an important role in developing products to protect internet users from the more undesirable aspects of the world wide web. Bloxx Limited, based at Geddes House in Livingston, produce IT appliances which prevent access to inappropriate web sites. Following approval for a grant under the West Lothian Technical Assistance Project, Bloxx was able to embark on a software development project to enhance its product range. These enhancements have enabled the company to launch an updated product capable of addressing other internet threats such as ?Spyware? and web borne viruses. Eamonn Doyle, MD of Bloxx Ltd said: ?We?re very grateful for the support of West Lothian Council and Scottish Enterprise Edinburgh and Lothian, through the TAP grant. This project has provided us with the means to deliver accelerated software development in a critical market area. The market is demanding protection from spyware threats etc now ? to have delivered it later would have placed us in a very difficult position?. Bloxx clients include local authorities, colleges and the NHS, as well as corporate clients and installations throughout the UK and beyond. website: www.bloxx.com
