Successful businesses know the value of making connections and building relationships. Networking is your key relationship-building tool. At the Business Gateway there are a number of Events from exhibitions and networking opportunities to economic briefings and skills workshops.

West Lothian has a number of excellent business networks. West Lothian Chamber of Commerce is a well-established Chamber with good links across the central belt of Scotland and beyond. It draws its membership from a wide cross section of businesses, both large and very small, and is well connected to the business services of West Lothian Council and the Business Gateway based at the Enterprise Centre in Livingston. Its regular member meetings throughout the year, as well as annual events such as the West Lothian Business Excellence Awards provide excellent opportunities for making business contacts.

West Lothian's Women in Business Group holds regular monthly meetings as well as annual events such as the West Lothian Women in Business Awards, and provides a supportive environment for business women to meet and do business.

National business organisations, including the Federation of Small Businesses, Business Network International (BNI) and the Business Referral Exchange (BRE), also all represent opportunities for local business networking and business development.
