Institute of Quality Assurance (IQA)

The Institute of Quality Assurance (IQA) advances the knowledge of quality management and practices, to achieve greater awareness of the importance of quality performance. Promotes education, training, qualification and development of people with responsibility for quality. It provides services for members, industry and commerce, including training courses, conferences, seminars, study programmes, books, journals and a database to the business community, plus a list of training aids available in the UK.

IQA provides professional recognition and support for anyone working in business improvement. IQA members are not only quality managers. They work in a variety of roles in production and planning, human resources, IT and general management - acting as catalysts for performance improvement and promoting excellence.

IQA was originally founded in 1919 as the Institute of Engineering Inspection. It is a not-for-profit organisation and a respected contributor to policy issues at a national and international level. It has maintained its unique position of independence from commercial or vested interests and embraces all quality models, philosophies and standards that help an organisation improve performance.
