27 February 2008 - Headed by an animated interactive game with a helpful mentor called Jenny, the Marketing Challenge takes CEOs and managers through a simulated business scenario letting them make choices on product development and sales strategy, to teach them the key concepts of successful marketing.
The site includes an interactive forum where CEOs and managers can share problems and best practice, and will feature a live question and answer session every month with a guest leading expert in marketing from some of the top brand names.Research by the University of Strathclyde has found that although Scots are among the most successful entrepreneurs when it comes to inventions, patents and intellectual property, we consistently fail to market our products, resulting in poor sales and low profit margins.
Funded by Strathclyde European Partnership, Scottish Enterprise, Highlands and Islands Enterprise and the Scottish Executive, the new website aims to encourage Scottish SMEs and start up businesses to think about marketing strategy right from the start of their business venture. The website is free to use and is being touted as a ?catalyst? to commercial success for businesses in all sectors in Scotland. Including databases of members and suppliers to help find exactly the right marketing techniques, it is a click that Scottish business cannot afford to miss.
The website is now live at www.scottishmarketingcommunity.com
