The aim of Sure Start is to give very young children (from pre-birth to 3 years) the best possible start by working closely with parents and other local authority, health and voluntary agencies to provide a more cohesive service for parents.

Local groups which aim to improve parent-child interactionthrough play and provide advice and support to parents in furthering children's development.
Group work for those at risk of social exclusion, through e.g. mental or physical ill health, domestic violence,
drug or alcohol misuse, minority groups and looked after children.
Individual support to parents to enable them to develop parenting skills and to access other support services.
Career development advice for parents.
